🕯️ What is A Homemaker’s Manifesto?
Welcome to my manifesto on womanhood, faith, and femininity — beyond the false binary of feminism vs. reductionist ideas about the “trad” life.
My name is Isa. I grew up in San Francisco admiring Marxist socialism, living with a progressive, atheistic worldview, and spending a semi-wayward youth bouncing between half-hearted education and bohemian escapism — the path expected of me by my family, teachers, and peers.
Everything began to shift when I moved out of my mom’s house and unexpectedly fell in love with homemaking. Cooking, creating a quiet atmosphere, and learning to keep a home changed how I saw the world — industry, culture, even ideology.
That was the good soil where the Gospel later took root. I found in Christ the truth I’d long been seeking — the answer to my deepest hunger for goodness, justice, and meaning in a dark and chaotic world.
This publication explores the legacy of postmodern feminism and contrasts it with the goodness of God’s design for men, women, and marriage. It tells the story of why so many modern women are embracing homemaking, traditional roles, and a vision of womanhood that actually honors our created nature.
We need a fresh conversation about biblical womanhood, patriarchy, and chivalry — one that tells the honest truth about how highly the Christian worldview regards women, and why homemaking is not oppressive but restorative.

🌿 Who is Isa?
Hey — I’m Isa Ryan, a homemaker, homeschooler, homesteader, and writer.
I live in the Ozarks with my husband of 12 years and our two boys. I contribute commentary to The Western Journal and have served as a senior writer for Elizabeth Johnston Ministries.
My work centers on traditional femininity, biblical womanhood, and the integrity of the family. I’m also passionate about politics, history, philosophy — and I adore classic literature, period dramas, coziness, and slow, beautiful living in our woodsy cabin hideaway.
🧶 P.S. If you’re drawn to deeper feminine healing and embodied discipleship,
