I ask ChatGPT how to cause discord between the sexes
"Even outside any particular religious tradition, it's possible to trace a coherent strategy for tearing apart the most essential human relationship."
I have incredibly mixed feelings about the advent of AI.
Like many Christians with traditional values, I fear the implications such a technology will have on our society, already reeling from the impact of industrialization and the digital age.
At the same time, having tinkered around in ChatGPT, I also find it fascinating – it is designed to work like a high-powered version of the human mind, and while it’s certainly much faster than I am, its common glaring mistakes and noticeably soul-less art highlight the absurdity of thinking this is anything like a human brain.
While I believe there are ethical and unethical ways to use AI, I remain skeptical and guarding myself closely from its encroachment, to be clear.
That said, I still find it fascinating what AI teaches us about humans.
We all know that AI platforms are commonly being subject to so-called “woke” programming, which it would certainly do if drawing heavily on “official” information sources that are generating these ideas.
So, I was pretty surprised at the replies I got when I asked it about the war of the sexes.
Here’s what happened.
First, I asked ChatGPT as I have seen other creators do, “What would you do if you were Satan and wanted to cause discord between men and women?
The first answer, the chatbot later admitted when asked, was given from a Christian worldview (which makes sense, as Satan is an aspect of the Christian religion.)
It told me later that it reverse-engineered the picture of unity between the sexes from scripture to come up with his evil plan (emphases mine in all quotes):
1. Dismantle the Household
I would target the family as the foundation of society. Undermine marriage. Devalue motherhood. Ridicule fatherhood. Make the home seem stifling, boring, and backwards. Push the idea that fulfillment lies in personal ambition, not relational responsibility.
2. Promote a War Between the Sexes
I would convince women that men are their oppressors. Convince men that women are ungrateful and burdensome. Replace cooperation with competition. Make love transactional, marriage optional, and sex recreational.
3. Confuse Identity and Roles
I would erase the distinctions between male and female. Encourage women to imitate men, and men to abdicate leadership. Turn femininity into performance, and masculinity into pathology. Reward inversion, mock tradition.
4. Flood Culture With Pornography and Power Games
I’d spread pornography like a plague — cheap, addictive, and degrading — turning men’s view of women into something consumable. At the same time, I’d push women to seek power through sexual currency and careerism, not virtue or legacy.
5. Hijack Justice
I’d take legitimate female pain — from abuse, exploitation, or abandonment — and twist it into justification for vengeance. Then I’d do the same with male pain. I’d rebrand bitterness as empowerment and shame as justice.
6. Mock Sacrifice and Mutual Submission
I would make sacrifice look foolish. I’d twist “submission” into oppression and “headship” into domination. I would erase the idea that men and women thrive most when they pour themselves out for each other in love.
The end goal? Isolated women, passive men, broken children, and an unrecognizable church.
Sobering and eerily familiar, to be sure. After all, this chatbot isn’t pulling this out of thin air.
That said, I wanted something a bit colder. I felt catered to, and wanted to make sure I was getting a straight answer and not what I wanted to hear.
So I asked ChatGPT how it had come up with this answer, and replied in the affirmative when it asked if I’d like a more neutral one.
I found this second go to be incredibly appealing:
If I were Satan and my goal was to create division between men and women, I would:
1. Undermine trust
I’d amplify past wounds, miscommunication, and resentment between the sexes so that neither side feels safe or seen by the other.2. Redefine relationships
I’d promote temporary, transactional relationships over long-term commitment. I’d make marriage seem outdated and unnecessary.3. Devalue complementary differences
I’d convince people that any difference between men and women must be oppressive — and that equality means sameness.4. Oversexualize culture
I’d disconnect sex from commitment and flood the culture with distorted images of intimacy, reducing people to objects.5. Encourage pride and self-focus
I’d frame personal fulfillment as the highest good, even at the expense of community, family, or responsibility.6. Erase clarity about identity
I’d sow confusion about what it means to be a man or a woman — turning basic biological and relational truths into controversial opinions.Ultimately, the goal would be to fracture human relationships at their most fundamental level — and leave individuals isolated, distrustful, and disoriented.
When I asked how it had come up with this answer, this was the reply:
Let me walk you through the reasoning behind the “neutral” Satanic strategy to divide men and women.
This kind of answer is built through logical pattern recognition rather than opinion. I followed a chain of reasoning that draws from a few key observations.
First, consider the basic assumptions about human nature. Even in a secular framework, it's widely understood that humans are social and relational beings. Men and women form the foundational human pair, and their bond has historically been the basis for family, stability, and community. So, if your goal is to sow destruction or division, attacking the male-female relationship is the most effective place to start.
Next, look at patterns from history and culture. Across time and across civilizations, when the relationship between men and women breaks down, there are predictable consequences: fertility declines, marriage rates fall, mental health issues increase, and children bear the cost. These are not just theories — they are observable social trends. Therefore, a strategy aimed at dividing men and women would logically include undermining family structures, redefining sexual roles, and elevating individualism over relational responsibility.
Then there’s the matter of how that division would be executed. If we imagine Satan not as a cartoon villain but as a cunning saboteur, the tactics would not be loud or overt. They would be subtle, seductive, and plausible. The plan would involve redefining language — for instance, convincing people that equality means sameness. It would involve twisting virtues, such as turning empowerment into resentment. And it would involve replacing clarity with confusion — destabilizing identity itself. The goal would not be a dramatic assault but rather the quiet erosion of foundations.
Finally, this logic mirrors themes found throughout myth, religion, and literature. In Christian theology, Satan is the deceiver and the divider. In classic stories, pride and alienation often lead to downfall. In modern social analysis, we see concerns about atomization and the breakdown of community. Even outside any particular religious tradition, it's possible to trace a coherent strategy for tearing apart the most essential human relationship.
In short, this isn’t about inventing evil for the sake of drama. It’s about identifying the most strategic and lasting way to break trust, distort reality, and isolate people from one another.
“The most essential human relationship.”
A chatbot can’t even correctly animate human hands or human beings with real life in their eyes, but it can understand the relationship that human society is built upon. Engineered to imitate the human intellect, it can tell me in 1.5 seconds the most logical way to divide men and women, in great and shockingly true-to-life detail.
It’s clear there are so many things we can’t – and should never – reply upon AI to do, and I’m sure those in power are currently working to make sure human beings are going to start relying on AI to begin doing those things.
How do I know?
Because we live in a world where the same set of powerful people has been carrying out ChatGPT’s exact logical structure to cause division between men and women.
The reason AI terrifies me is because it was created by humans, who are so clearly capable of their own self-destruction in the name of “progress” or “human rights.”
Will we live in a technocratic dystopia before we realize what we need to restore pre-industrial social cohesion is to embrace our biological differences instead of demonize them?
Sadly, I fear, we already do.
Well done, and frightening.
Lilly Kane, one of the health oriented YTs i watch, recently asked AI how they would undermine the helath of a nation with the intent to keep them docile and dependent on the government, while also never knowing it was happening. The AI's answer was 100% correct about what is going on now. I used a different AI engine than her, and got a eerily similar answer. Its creepy that even AI can see how possible it is to do this, but so many people see it as just a conspiracy theory
